General Guidelines for participation in all classes:
All owners/handlers are required to:
- submit proof of vaccinations with registration forms and fees;
- clean up after their dogs both indoors and outdoors;
- have dog housebroken;
- assure that dogs are non-aggressive;
- assure that dogs are free of fleas and other parasites;
- not smoke, use alcohol or other strong medication while training your dog;
- wear athletic shoes and clothing;
- refrain from losing your temper, use verbal praise and touch your dog for a better response;
- be consistent; do the same thing the same way every time and end your practice sessions on a happy note!
OBEDIENCE CLASS
Minimun Age: 6 months
This is a 6 week class. The course will introduce the dogs to all of the basic obedience commands such as sit-stays, down-stays, stands, walking on a leash, etc. Offered when at least eight dogs have registered, usually about every three-to-six weeks. When you register for this class you will be informed of the start date for the next available class.
Required equipment - a 6' leash (webbed cotton or leather), buckle collar or halter collar.No prong collars, harnesses or flexi-leads allowed.
This class is for the novice pet owner and dog. It is designed to train the team (dog and handler) to communicate with each other.
